Italien, eines der ältesten und klassischsten Weinanbauländer, ist nach Frankreich das zweit stärkste Wein exportierende Weinanbauland. Hervorragende Lagen findet man in Piemont und der Toskana. Diese Regionen bringen hervorragende Weine, wie zum Beispiel Barolo Barbera, Brunello und Chianti hervor, um nur einige zu nennen. Die wichtigsten Rebsorten sind wohl die Nebbiolo und die Sangiovese Weinrebe.
